Would you like to take a selfie with Adele, the Queen or Angela Merkel? You think that's not possible? At the Panoptikum in Hamburg, meeting your idols becomes a reality!
The Panoptikum in Hamburg on St. Pauli was founded in 1879 and is thus the oldest wax museum in Germany. The fifth generation of the Faerber family continues this tradition to this day - with dedication, care and attention to detail.
The similarity to the original is no coincidence - it's real art. Visitors experience this very special art on over 700 m² of exhibition space.
The Panoptikum is a fascinating world made of wax, in which reality and fantasy merge. Currently, more than 120 personalities from art and culture, sports and politics, society and history are shown - including many celebrities and real megastars. Best of all: The stars and starlets are not at all afraid of photos and wait patiently for the souvenir photo of the private paparazzi. Photography is expressly allowed in the exhibition.
Be surprised by whom the museum chose as the latest additions to their exhibition.
In addition to current personalities such as presenter Barbara Schöneberger, singer Helene Fischer, US President Donald Trump and Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie, you will also see local celebrities such as Olivia Jones and Udo Lindenberg and historical Figures such as Henry VIII, Albert Einstein and Friedrich von Schiller. A scary scene and a medical-anatomical cabinet complete the collection. The visit to the Panoptikum takes 45 to 60 minutes. A free audio guide provides visitors in German and English with information on the waxworks on display.
There are puzzles for children throughout the exhibition, which are available free of charge on-site: the "Pauli P. Tour" for children from six to twelve years and the "PanoptikumNews" for young people and young adults. Both rallies are pedagogically designed and thought-provoking- but of course they are most of all fun!
